Minnesota’s Hennepin County is currently experiencing an outbreak of measles cases. Most of the cases (46 out of 48) are 10 years of age or younger and 41 are Somali-American children. Forty-five of the cases are confirmed to be unvaccinated; vaccination status of the remaining cases has not yet been determined. The local Somali community has been targeted for years with misinformation about a connection between vaccination and autism.
