The following is an embedded article that I wrote several years ago.  The article deals with my ideas about how the development and growth of the brain is constrained by physical laws.  The ideas that I present stem from my interest in evolution.  I have written other articles/chapters related to this topic as well as to Systems Theory. and the organization of the brain.
