My good friend Veronica Martinez Cerdeno has established a foundation with the aim of teaching kids neuroscience. This year alone she has had 16 outreach events (and counting) at K-12 schools. This is on top of her busy schedule that takes her around the globe as a good will ambassador.  One of her aims is to publicize knowledge to Hispanic speaking countries in regards to neuroevelopmental conditions. She has been instrumental in establishing an international brain bank to foster postmortem research and in mentoring a new cadre of researchers at the MIND Institute. Thus far, in a budding academic career, she has positioned herself as one of the leading researchers on the neurobiology of autism and Fragile X syndrome.
